Start Here

hello, hello!   i'm Leah.

Can I tell you something kind of wild?  For 20 years, I've been living proof that you don't have to choose between success and service. Or wait until you've really "made it" to start "changing the world".

While I was building to the top levels of my first business (we're talking 7-figure revenue success), I was also working pro bono in education development in Tanzania. I co-founded a public school there, and guess what? It's now ranked #1 academically with a 100% graduation rate for eight years running.  (I really don't like tooting my own horn, but I'm told my story is inspiring so I need to get over it.). Anyway...

I didn't do one, then the other. I didn't think one had to come at the expense of the other. I did them together. And if you're here, I'm guessing you want to figure out how to do something like that, too.

Because here's what I've learned: We're all growing and evolving, no matter what we're building. There's no magical "arrival" moment when you suddenly deserve to make a difference. So there's no time like the present to start showing up for what you believe in.

About Me

Hello! I’m Leah.

I'm thrilled you’re here.

I'm the co-founder of Kisimani School in the heart of Tanzania, and let me tell you, it's been one incredible journey.

What started as a tiny seed in a local community, 13 years later it now proudly stands as the #1 academically ranked school in the entire region. We've been celebrating a 100% graduation rate for a solid five years straight, serving over 1,500 students each year. Talk about growth, right?

Now, here's the exciting part—I believe in YOU. Yes, you! Your potential to make a positive impact is enormous, and I'm here to empower you to confidently use your resources as a catalyst for empowering others.

Whether you're already making waves or just starting out, I've got your back.

the backstory

GET TO KNOW ME.

NON-PROFIT FOUNDER

I'm the co-founder and President of Friends of Kisimani School, a registered 501(c)3 that supports Kisimani School, a public school in Arusha, Tanzania. What started in 2011 as a grassroots effort has grown into something pretty amazing.

We started with two goals: build a public school for a neglected community, and teach in English to offer equal opportunity education.  (Public primary schools teach in Swahili.  Private schools teach in English.  However, everyone is expected to learn in English in secondary school.)

Today, over 1,700 students each year attend what's now the #1 academically ranked school in the entire region. The community in Mkonoo village no longer has to send their youngest children on 7-11 kilometer walks to the nearest public school. That's impact that matters.

ENTREPRENEUR

I built my first business with Arbonne in the early 2000s, reaching the top 1% of the company's sales force and earning the 2013 Spirit of Arbonne award for embodying the company's mission to contribute to positive change locally, nationally, and globally.

That business gave me the time freedom and financial foundation to pursue my passion for international development work. (See how this all connects?)

The seeds of MOVED were planted, watered and nurtured in this community.  I am most proud of elevating current and future leaders in the company to live their full potential, and impact the world in their own unique way.

If you're searching for a vehicle to buy back your time in service of your calling, I highly recommend taking a peek.

CREATIVE

I hold a B.A. in Communications + Theater from Northwestern University and an M.A. in Acting for Screen from the Royal Central School of Speech Drama in London. (Yes, I'm a trained mime. No, I won't get stuck in an invisible box. Yes, I will make you play when we work together.)

I'm a collaborating ensemble member and writer for Broken Box Mime Theater, an NYC-based contemporary physical theater company that tells original stories without words or props. I've also worked as an Executive Producer and Producer, most proudly with the team at Ctrl Alt Delete for their social activism and recent Emmy nominations.
